  • Season 2016

it started last october with helleborus bocconei.
to tell the truth there was always a hellebore flowering all year long, though those summer flowers give a bit strange feeling.

followed by torquatushybrid. those both i grow in pots because i know they are very early ones, too early for our normal winters.

i have a very similar plant which i planted in the garden. itīs flowering too as we have had a very mild springlike winter till now.
yesterday there was a snowstorm, luckily most of my plants are covered with enough snow so ihat there will be no big damage. actually -8°C tendency downwards.

I like the veined pink, have often wondered if the veining intensity is affecre0-ted by environmental conditions leading up to flowering.

                    Hello Lubuli,

Wow, nice plants, the seeds we received from you in 2011 and 2012 are starting to flower now.
With a winterstop at the moment.
Will make some pictures when the weather is better.

                    Kind regards.

                    Gert-Jan

getting warmer and snow is melting. the hellebores seem to be undamaged.

Great plants Lucia , pleased they survived the worst of the cold so far , we only had a little snow and frost but it has helped with the flower colour too .

today i could inspect all the plants, snow gone. there is a little bit of damage, some bent flowerstalks, but not important, more buds to come.
so for the first time i have a flowerbouquet out of my garden in the month of january!

jeff, i found your pm just between my spammail and answered it directly.
